Madelyn Marie Diaz is the youngest daughter of a Mexican immigrant mother and Peruvian immigrant father, who laid roots in Long Beach, California. From a young age, she was instilled with values of hard work and consistency in her passions for public service and law. She has always pushed herself further, sometimes even trying again, to make her professional goals into reality.
Madelyn is a first-generation student at the University of California, Berkeley majoring in Legal Studies with a minor in public policy. Madelyn has developed a passion for service to Latinos through her various activities, such as being a 2022 College Leadership Scholar for Hispanas Organized for Political Equity (HOPE), and a proud brown sister of Lambda Theta Nu Sorority Inc. One day, she hopes to continue public service to Latinos as a federal agency appointee.
Upon graduating from her undergraduate studies, Madelyn aspires to pursue a Master’s in Public Policy and a Juris Doctor Degree.
As a CHCI Intern, Madelyn hopes to create relationships with the leading Latino voices of Capitol Hill, while growing her experience in the workplace environments of the federal government.
