Camila Valencia, a lifelong resident of Pilsen, Chicago, IL, is a rising senior at Holy Trinity High School. Proud of her Mexican heritage, Camila is dedicated to uplifting her community. She is the vice president of the Latino/Hispanic club, participates in MAAP, a medical program encouraging youth of color to pursue careers in healthcare, is a student ambassador, and volunteers at her local hospital. Inspired by her grandparents’ resilience and the ongoing challenges in her community, Camila is driven to pursue a career in public policy to ensure representation and advocacy for marginalized voices. She plans to major in public health and focus on public health policy. Her experience in CHCI NextGen further ignited her passion for serving her Latino community, underscoring her leadership potential and helping her make valuable connections. This experience solidified her commitment to making a meaningful impact alongside her peers.
