Isaac Alegria is a Mexican American residing in Santa Ana California. Currently a junior at Sage Hill school, he serves as a student ambassador and member of the leadership group Sage Advocates of Multicultural Education (SAME). He is dedicated to serving his community through educating others on the importance of DEI work, in an effort to foster a more culturally accepting community. Proud of his Mexican heritage, he joined his schools LatinX affinity group, where later he helped rename “Latinos Unidos”. He participated in the University of Irvine’s Diversity, Inclusion and Racial Healing program to further educate his community of Latino excellence and power. As part of this program he implemented a capstone project. Isaac plans to study international relations and public policy, to work as an international lawyer dedicated to improving diplomatic ties between the United States of America and Latin American countries. Privileged by the opportunity to participate in CHCI NextGen, it has strengthened his commitment to helping advance the nation’s Latino community.
