Claudia Valencia 

Claudia Valencia currently serves as a Staff Assistant and Intern Coordinator. 

Previously, Claudia interned for the Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries (NY-08) through the UCDC Program while pursuing her bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of California, Merced. Following her graduation, she returned to Leader Jeffries’ office as an Operations Assistant, where she oversaw daily office operations. 

Claudia was recently named to the Cristo Rey Network’s 40 Under 40, honoring alumni whose leadership and journeys reflect the impact of education, perseverance, and community. The network offers career-focused, Catholic college prep education.

In addition to her work on Capitol Hill, Claudia has contributed to various grassroots campaigns and founded a small agriculture business while in college. Her passions and long-term goals are focused on advancing legislative policy in areas such as agriculture, immigration, national security, and foreign affairs. 

Outside of her professional pursuits, Claudia enjoys working as a florist, cooking, and visiting farmers’ markets on the weekends.
