Congressional Intern, Presented By: Walmart
Hometown: Seattle, Washington
School: George Washington University
Major: Criminal Justice
Placement: The Office of Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez

Adriana was born and raised in Seattle, Washington. Her parents immigrated to the United States from Mexico in a pursuit of a better life. As the oldest daughter, the values of gaining an education and hard work were instilled in her at a young age. Most importantly, her parents always reminded her to help others and give back to her community.

Adriana is a rising sophomore at The George Washington University studying Criminal Justice with a minor in Political Science on the Pre-law track. She is a member of Civic House, a living and learning community at her university dedicated to public service and civic engagement. In addition, she became the freshman representative for the Organization of Latin American Students on campus, which allowed her to help create events for Latinx students in efforts to increase community. Adriana is passionate about activism when it comes to topics like criminal justice reform and immigrants’ rights. She looks forward to helping create change and continuing to be an active member of the GW community.

As a CHCI Intern, Adriana hopes to learn and understand more about the legislative process, gain hands-on experience, and take this as an opportunity to ask questions and learn from the experts. Above all, Adriana wants to use this knowledge to help be a better advocate for her community.
