Hometown: Lawrenceville, Georgia

School: Central Gwinnett High School

Ashlee Moraga Ortega was born June 16th, 2007, in Managua, Nicaragua. Her parents realized there was no future for their first child there and decided to flee. Left behind the only family and home she ever knew and moved to Atlanta, Georgia. Growing up, Ashlee was treated differently by her own classmates and was seen as someone hard to work with by her teachers. God guided her through everything she did, and she always stayed very optimistic towards her life goals. She is known to have a calming spirit and uses everything she has to help and to give back. Ashlee takes multiple leadership positions in school and participates in many clubs. HOPE introduced her to CHCI NextGen and she instantly knew she had to give it a shot. This was her chance to not only represent her people but a chance to use her voice and speak for those who are speechless.
