Bladam was born and raised in Oxnard, California. Both of his parents immigrated from El Salvador around the age of 18. Bladam is the first person in his family to attend college and is grateful for the sacrifices his family made for him to have this privilege today.
Bladam is currently a senior at the University of California, Los Angeles double majoring in Public Affairs and Sociology. At his university, he is highly involved with Model United Nations and was a member of the executive board this past year. Outside of his university, Bladam has taken part in numerous legal experiences. He has served as a translator for an immigrant legal clinic where he was able to support his community. He has also experimented with the other side of the spectrum of law by interning at a corporate law firm. Bladam hopes to go to law school at some point after his undergraduate education to achieve his ultimate goal of becoming an attorney.
As a CHCI intern, Bladam wants to become exposed to the potential careers that exist within the realm of government. He hopes that by taking part in a congressional internship, he will have greater clarity about the path he wants to take for the future.
