Briseida Sanchez is the proud oldest daughter of two Mexican immigrants. She is the designated translator and interpreter of her family and thanks to her experiences as the translator was able to realize her dreams and goals for the future. She has realized that when one doesn’t speak the language there is a barrier which leads to one being left unacknowledged and unheard, their opinion not valued. Therefore, she hopes to become an attorney and depending on where life takes her maybe even a politician so she can advocate for others. The NextGen program made her realize that people like her, Latinos and Hispanics, have the capability and the power to get to important positions to help change the world and make it a better place for everyone.
