Hannah Valverde

Hannah Valverde is the daughter of first-generation Colombian immigrants from Linden, New Jersey. She is passionate about increasing civic engagement within her community and advocating for marginalized voices. As a testament to her passion, throughout her high school experience, Hannah has participated in her school’s Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC), Junior Achievement Finance Organization, DECA, serves as the class of 2026 student secretary, and is the founder of the Hispanic Heritage Club at her school. Outside of school, she volunteers with her town’s Mayor’s Youth Commission, Red Cross, and Tunnels to Towers Foundation. After high school, she plans on majoring in Political Science with a minor in International Relations with the hopes of becoming a lawyer to continue advocating for change. CHCI NextGen further fuels her passions and commitments to helping restore democracy and fulfill her civic duty by engaging with other young Latino leaders and developing a deeper understanding of politics and civic duty.
