Jimena Magana is a first generation student who hopes to be the first person in her family to go to college. She was able to participate in CHCI NextGen, and going into the program, she didn’t know what to expect. Jimena can be a very shy person at first but within minutes of arriving to the program, she felt welcomed by the other participants. Throughout the week she spent in Washington DC, she was able to learn about different presidents and their history behind them. She was able to bond with the other participants and the staff through the week as well. As an CHCI NextGen alum, she would recommend this program.
