Karina Hernandez is a first-generation Mexican American from Chicago, Illinois. As the President of her school’s National Honor Society chapter, she has a passion to lead and help guide her classmates to success. She also takes part in the Dream Team, where their goal is to advocate for immigrants in their school and the community. In the future she hopes to go into the medical field, where she will be able to provide care to under-resourced communities as well as advocate for equitable and inclusive healthcare for everyone. Through CHCI NextGen, she grew her knowledge on issues that Latinos face and how she can do her part in ensuring that they are represented in the government.
