Leonardo Moreno is a first generation Mexican-American. Born in Laredo, a border community in Texas, he became passionate about advocating for broader asylum-seeking rights and the betterment of his community. Leonardo strongly believes that the latino community has the potential to make a difference in the nation through education and action. He is the founder of a non-profit organization that regulates debate competitions in his Mexican hometown, Nuevo Laredo. In addition, he is an intern at Guzman Law Firm and served as a summer intern for the Laredo office of TX-28 Congressional District. Leonardo seeks to major in Political Science and minor in Romance Languages and Literature. Afterward, he aspires to attend law school.
