Lidia Quiroa Roca

Hometown: Orange, New Jersey

School: Essex County West Caldwell School of Technology

Lidia Quiroa Roca is a first-generation Guatemalan from Orange, New Jersey. From her experiences as a Bank of America Student Leader, a Yale Women in Economics Scholar, and her active participation in local service projects, she became committed to making a positive impact. Lidia actively engages in civic initiatives, serving as President of her County’s political engagement group and participating in programs like Civics Unplugged as a Civic Innovators Fellow. She uses her voice to raise awareness of vital social issues and believes in the power of driving meaningful conversations and inspiring action. After witnessing the injustices immigrants have faced in the U.S., she is committed to pursuing a career as an immigration attorney and hopes to continue her passion for politics, advocacy, and law. CHCI NextGen was fundamental in Lidia’s understanding of the U.S. government and has empowered her to continue pursuing her goals.
