Madelyn Botello’s family is from Monterrey Mexico and have made a living in the United States with their Mexican grocery stores and other businesses. She was born and raised in an area called Oak Cliff, right outside of downtown Dallas, Texas. On August 6, 2022, Madelyn graduated first gen from Texas State University with a Bachelor of Healthcare Administration and a Minor in Sociology. Throughout her college career, she was a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, the Texas State University Hispanic Serving Institution Committee, Latinas Unidas, and the Treasurer and VP of Programming, for the Underrepresented Student Advisory Council. She received “4.0 Deans List” certificates in both semesters of her final year in college.
As a CHCI Intern, she hopes to build connections and grow her network, improve her knowledge of policy, and acquire tools to help her reach her goals and make a change in her community.
