Maria Paula Rodriguez-Saenz

Maria Paula Rodriguez-Saenz has three places she calls home. The first being Neiva, Huila, Colombia – the place where she was born and the place where her ancestors came from. At the age of five, she immigrated to the United States where she spent most of her childhood adapting to the American Dream in Fayetteville, Arkansas. This is where she realized her passion was intertwined in the written words of storytelling and politics. At 15, she moved to Sarasota, Florida where she continued the rest of her education, graduating in 2023 from Florida State University with a Bachelor in Science in Political Science and Creative Writing. After graduating, she completed her first Congressional Press Internship with the Office of Darren Soto through the CHCI internship program.
This experience led her to apply and complete the White House Internship Program as a Writing Intern with the Office of Presidential Correspondence under the Biden-Harris Administration. Public service has ultimately become a passion for Paula as she had the opportunity to work for the Harris-Walz campaign as a research associate and is now fortunate to be serving as a Scheduler/Staff Assistant. In her free time, Paula enjoys reading classic novels, writing about anything that inspires her on a daily basis, and spending time with the people she loves. Ultimately, she hopes to continue the path of public service with dreams of being able to help her community of immigrants and Latinos.
