Martha Ramos Lopez

Martha Ramos is the youngest of three daughters who have all been first-generation students. As she stands on the shoulders of her ancestors, she is truly living the First-Generation Dream. She is a very passionate leader serving as President of her school’s Be a Leader club, motivating her peers who are also first-generation students to take a leap of faith and be their ancestors’ wildest dreams. She is also involved in numerous extra-curricular activities that help her bring change to her community. Growing up in a low-income community in Phoenix, Arizona has made Martha very passionate about the homeless crisis. She hopes to double major in Political Science and International Relations. Martha is forever grateful for her CHCI NextGen experience because it helped her become more confident in not only herself but her voice. The program helped her passion grow, making her strive for success, continue her drive for activism, and continue to fight for her community.
