Michelle Daniel Franco is a driven Chicana proudly born and raised in the Bay Area, California. She serves on her city’s youth commission to boost youth civic engagement and is the Co-chair of the MEChA (Movimiento Estudiantil Chicanx de Aztlán) Organization at her school, fostering a stronger community among Latino students. A scholar of the Ethnic Studies and Social Justice Academy, she focuses on addressing systemic issues affecting marginalized communities. Through grassroots work, she empowers and uplifts those around her, advocating for equality and positive change. Participating in CHCI NextGen has opened new possibilities and reinforced the need for Latino voices in spaces where they have been historically excluded. Michelle is eager to further her education and continue making a meaningful impact in her community and beyond.
