Robbie Axel Torres

Axel Torres was always a quiet kid who couldn’t approach people without a feeling of panic. He comes from a small country named Peru and emmigrated to the US in search of new opportunities. Despite being a hispanic immigrant, he proudly aced all his exams and tried his best to be a top student for his own future. When he was selected for CHCI NextGen, he realized that he wasn’t the only latino facing problems in the world. During the program, he met many people from different backgrounds who helped him to understand better what it is like to have somenone to identify with. Upon his arrival to the program in DC, he learned a new sentiment within himself, a sentiment of leadership and he decided from that day on that he will fight for the rights of every underrepresented person.
