Sarah Skirmit 

Sarah Skirmit was born and raised in El Paso, Texas, and is a proud Tejana who still calls El Paso home. Sarah graduated from New York University, where she double majored in Journalism and Political Science. Inspired by her mom’s 20 years as a neonatal intensive care nurse, she began learning about health policy while working for a trade association representing medical groups and health systems across the country. During the pandemic, Sarah decided to dedicate her work to public service, and now works as a senior legislative staffer. Her work focuses on health and immigration policies that improve the lives of working families.
