Stefany Alvarado is a trilingual immigrant woman born in Guanajuato, Mexico, and raised in northwest Georgia. She recently graduated from Georgia State University with a bachelor’s in Journalism and French and a minor in Speech Communications. During her undergraduate career, Alvarado taught health literacy in the Dominican Republic, mentored Latinx high school students, and dedicated her collegiate career to serving the diverse community of the Atlanta-metro area.
As a presenter and multi-published author, Alvarado centers her work around marginalized communities, specifically the Latino populace. She is passionate about broadening inclusion and accessibility to education, financial literacy, health, and work opportunities for multicultural groups. Alvarado’s mission is to continue elevating historically excluded voices by creating and expanding inclusive spaces to improve equitable systems.
As a CHCI Intern, Alvarado hopes to understand the processes and nuances of drafting policy to support the creation of corporate policies in diversity, equity, and inclusion.
