Hometown: South Ozone Park, New York
School: CUNY Lehman College
Major: Latino Studies
Placement: The Office of Rep. Nydia Velázquez
Tiffany was born and raised in the lively neighborhood of South Ozone Park in Queens, New York. She is a proud Nuyorican (a Puerto Rican who was born and raised in New York) whose grandparents migrated from Puerto Rico to New York in the mid-1940s.
Tiffany recently graduated from CUNY Herbert H. Lehman College with a Degree of Arts majoring in Latino Studies. As a Latino Studies major she was able to expand her knowledge of different Latin American Diasporas, historical events, indigenous groups and the beautiful flavors of culture. She used her knowledge to help assist her professors in creating a trilingual online certificate program where anyone in the world could partake in. Her love for the Latino diaspora and culture motivates her to soon continue her studies in graduate school.
She has always had a curious mind and wanted to try out every opportunity that her campus had to offer. She found herself joining the Student Government Association as well as the Leadership Development Center. As a Senator, Legislative Coordinator, USS Alternate Delegate and Leadership Mentor she found her passion for advocacy, education, and community empowerment.
As a CHCI Intern she aspires to gain profound insights on policy making while experiencing the dynamics of working in Congress.
