Veda E. Kobayashi

Veda E. Kobayashi (previously Beltran) is an experienced congressional staffer specializing in judiciary and immigration policy. She currently serves as a Professional Staff Member, where she conducts oversight investigations into federal agencies, drafts legislative proposals, and produces investigative reports.
Previously, she was a Legislative Aide to Senator Edward J. Markey (D-MA), where she played a key role in advancing legislation, such as the Right to Contraception Act. Veda began her Senate career in Senator Tim Kaine’s (D-VA) office, rising from Staff Assistant to Legislative Correspondent, where she worked on judicial nominations and homeland security. Before her time on the Hill, she was a Research Assistant at EMILY’s List, analyzing candidate records on key policy issues.
She holds a Master of Arts in Government and Security Studies from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Claremont McKenna College. During her free time, you can catch Veda at a Barry’s class or walking her dog on the National Mall.
