Yadira Leon is an incoming junior at Presentation High School in the Bay Area. At her school, Yadira is part of her school’s JV Swim team and is a founding member and current officer of First Light, a club dedicated to first-generation students. Yadira first applied to CHCI NextGen after learning about it from a former participant. She believes that being part of this program would not only inspire change in herself but also in her community by being more directly involved with ongoing issues. Outside of school, Yadira is involved in her faith by being part of a Youth Group and is an altar server at her church.
