Growing up in a low income community in east LA never offered people many opportunities. East LA is known for gang violence and pollution. Zoe Guerrero is a proud Latina from east LA. Zoe plans on becoming a pediatric nurse, to show low income communities that even if you grow up in a place that doesn’t offer you much, you can become anything with the support of many resources that are out there. CHCI NextGen revealed to Zoe that there are many more opportunities for people of color, like Zoe Guerrero herself. Zoe strives to give back to her community to demonstrate that her peers can become the next generation of Latino leaders.
