Diego Flores is a first-generation college student born and raised in the South Bronx, NY. He is the son of two immigrant parents originally from Mexico City and is the oldest of three boys. Due to his family’s experience, Diego has internalized the importance and potential that education holds for other students from his background and hopes to take advantage of any opportunities that come his way.
He is currently a rising Junior at Harvard University on track to concentrate in History and Literature with a potential secondary in Economics. On-campus he has interned for different law clinics operated by the law school and is currently an intern at the Harvard Legal Aid Bureau, helping with interpretations and translations for clients as well as helping student attorneys with any helpful research. By interning and volunteering with organizations such as these, Diego has been able to aid others that have been through situations similar to the ones he and his family have experienced in the areas of immigration and employment. These experiences have solidified his goal to attend law school.
As a CHCI Intern, Diego hopes to explore the possibility of a career in public policy or potentially politics as he seeks to tackle issues relating primarily to immigration and education.
