Esmeralda Nunez is the daughter of two Mexican Immigrants who have taught her to never back away from the unknown and to value every opportunity thrown in her direction. She is currently the Social Media Manager for the League of United Latin American Citizens Council #1021, where she has completed over 200 hours of community service and civic engagement. Once Esmeralda graduates from high school, she plans to attend a four year college program to major in Computer Science and engage in the workforce alongside the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The NextGen program has given Esmeralda a special experience that she will always hold close to her heart. Aside from leaving her home state for the first time on a plane, she was able to network with inspiring individuals while creating long lasting bonds with other adolescents from around the nation. Esmeralda believes that small chances like the ones CHIC provides is what has inspired her to create change, specially in the STEM career paths.
