Aisaiah Pellecer is a highly motivated individual who is deeply committed to public policy and data science. Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, he grew up in the predominantly Black and Latinx neighborhoods of Albany Park and South Chicago, giving him a unique perspective on the challenges facing marginalized and underrepresented communities.
Aisaiah has already made a significant impact in the field of public policy as a fellow with UnidosUS, where he advocated for post-secondary education reform as part of the inaugural Afro-Latinx, Lideres Avanzado fellowship.
Currently pursuing a degree in Information Sciences and Data Science at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Aisaiah recognizes the importance of data in driving effective public policy and enhancing outcomes. He applied his skills to data-driven community advocacy during his internship, last summer, with MAPSCorps.
This summer, Aisaiah is eager to continue his professional development in the field of public policy by interning in Congress, where he hopes to bring his lived experience and unique perspective to the table. As an Afro-Guatemalan, he believes that his identity adds value to the conversation around diversity and representation in politics.
Moving forward, Aisaiah plans to leverage his education and connections with community organizations in communities facing socio-economic hardship and de facto segregation to effect positive change. He aspires to pursue a graduate program in Computational Analysis and Public Policy, with the ultimate goal of utilizing his knowledge and expertise to make a significant impact in the field of public policy.
