Alyssa Martinez
Alyssa Martinez (she/her) is a Legislative Correspondent, where she manages the environment, public lands, and natural resources portfolios; drafts high-volume constituent correspondence; and briefs senior staff on policy developments and district impacts. She also conducts constituent and stakeholder meetings and supports front-office operations while advancing the Member’s legislative priorities.
Previously, Alyssa served as a Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI) Clean Energy Postgraduate Fellow, where she authored congressional oversight letters to federal agencies and drafted policy memos on clean energy and environmental legislation to support senior staff decision-making. Prior to her fellowship, she worked at a public relations firm focused on stakeholder engagement and strategic messaging for a major clean, renewable hydrogen infrastructure project serving the Los Angeles region. In that role, she managed a community-based organization stakeholder group, ensuring that disadvantaged and environmental justice communities had a meaningful voice in the project’s development.
Alyssa grew up in Southeast Los Angeles, where exposure to industrial pollution and environmental health disparities shaped her commitment to environmental justice. She holds a B.S. in Public Policy and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Southern California. Alyssa is dedicated to advancing equitable, community-centered clean energy solutions and ensuring historically marginalized communities have a meaningful role in shaping public policy.
