Diego was born and raised in Lima, Peru, where he attended Hans Christian Andersen School. Growing up, Diego played multiple sports, primarily soccer, tennis, and swimming, in addition to mastering classical guitar performance, inspired by Latin American music styles. Diego attended East Longmeadow High School in East Longmeadow, MA for a couple of years before attending college. During his senior year of high school, Diego was awarded the Johnson Scholarship for leadership and integrity, a full-ride merit-based scholarship to attend Washington and Lee University, where he is pursuing a major in Economics and a minor in Data Science. Diego has previously interned in multiple roles, primarily focused on finance and banking. Upon graduation, Diego will pursue a career in investment banking in New York City.
As a CHCI Intern, Diego hopes to learn about public policy, while collaborating with other interns. Furthermore, he hopes to bring his experience and background to provide a diverse perspective. Overall, Diego expects to strengthen his leadership skills to better serve the Latinx Community.
