Eda Garcia
Eda Garcia is a first-generation professional from Southwest Houston, Texas, whose experiences growing up in a diverse, tight-knit community shaped her commitment to amplifying underrepresented voices. A graduate of Claremont McKenna College with a degree in Government, she has dedicated her career to ensuring that communities like hers are represented in policy and public discourse.
She currently serves as a Press Secretary and Digital Manager, leading strategic messaging, rapid-response communications, and digital outreach across both D.C. and district offices. A native Spanish speaker, Eda is passionate about bridging language and cultural gaps in media coverage, ensuring that Hispanic and multilingual communities are seen and heard.
She previously served as Deputy Press Secretary for Senator Catherine Cortez Masto and as Press Secretary for Lina Hidalgo’s successful Harris County Judge campaign, experiences that reinforced her belief in using communications as a tool for equity, accountability, and civic engagement.
She stays grounded by keeping her community, friends, and family at home close and remembering the experiences that helped shape her. From mentoring younger staff to amplifying voices that might otherwise go unheard, she approaches her work with the purpose of ensuring every constituent voice is heard, crafting messaging that educates and empowers, and upholding equity, accountability, and service in every decision she makes.
