At her university, Julieta has held leadership roles in 10+ organizations. She heavily focuses on the intergenerational healing of Latinx students. She focuses on community storytelling and Latinx empowerment through her role as President of the United Latinx Association on her campus. Events that she has hosted include voter empowerment for young Latinx students, generational healing through combatting colorism, fatphobia, homophobia, and racism in the Latinx community while centering the power of radical joy and love necessary for our freedom.
Julieta is currently enrolled at Texas Christian University where they will obtain degrees in Political Science and Comparative Race and Ethnic Studies with an Emphasis on Women and Gender Studies and Latinx Studies. After graduation, Julieta plans to pursue a law degree where she hopes to specialize in providing human rights litigation and legal support for the United Nations.
As a CHCI Intern, Julieta hopes to learn the importance of community outreach in democracy and how to prioritize community voices in the legislative processes. She hopes to bring these experiences back to Fort Worth, Texas, and empower her communities to make their voices heard in democratic processes.
