Victoria was born in New Brunswick, New Jersey but raised in Kissimmee, Florida. Her mom and dad immigrated from Honduras and Nicaragua, respectively, in the 80s. Victoria is the youngest in her family and the first of her siblings to graduate from college. She credits her family and community for supporting her throughout her upbringing. Having been raised by a single mother, the mantra ‘it takes a village to raise a child’ led her to pursue a degree in Political Science to serve the community which poured so much into her. While pursuing her degree, she has led events in collaboration with local nonprofits, lobbied for legislative members to support college students like her amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, and is now a sister of Chi Upsilon Sigma National Latin Sorority, Inc.
Victoria recently graduated from the University of Central Florida in December with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science with an International Relations track. She takes great pride in being a first-generation American and it serves as her driving force to advocate for those who struggle with migration as they pursue the American Dream.
As a CHCI Intern, she looks forward to learning about the legislative process and how advocacy can best provide benefits to minority communities. As one of the very few in her family born here, she hopes to be of service to those like them who need an advocate in government.
