Director, Internship and Fellowship Programs
Pamela Sanchez serves as the Director of Internship and Fellowship Programs at CHCI and is also an alumna of the CHCI Graduate Fellowship. Pamela’s role focuses on designing programs and instituting new approaches for leadership development for each cohort of fellows. Prior to this role, she was a public school teacher in Phoenix, Arizona and the Summer Institute Operations Director for Teach for America. Pamela began her career in college access, working with Upward Bound programs and volunteering for organizations who uplifted and empowered youth of color. She is a proud daughter of Mexican immigrants and a first-generation college graduate. She obtained a Master’s in Education from Arizona State University and a dual Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Spanish Sociolinguistics from The University of Arizona.
In her free time, Pamela likes to read, explore new cities, go to concerts, and relax with her cat, Charlie, and dog, Willow.
