Viviana serves as Director of Strategic Events. She is responsible for managing contracts and key vendor relationships and creating the strategy for some of CHCI’s critical events.

She brings more than 10 years of experience planning every aspect of events from intimate board member meetings to 14,000-person city-wide conventions and conferences. She is also a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) and received her Master of Tourism Administration with a concentration in Event and Meeting Management from the George Washington School of Business in 2020.

She started building her experience in convention and expo management in 2013 at SmithBucklin where she assisted in the planning and execution of conventions and trade shows for multiple association clients. In her most recent role at Blavity Inc. she contributed to the planning and execution of the AfroTech Conference expo and sponsorship program for more than 10,000 attendees.

As a native of the Washington D.C. area and proud first-generation Colombian American she is honored to serve her community in this role. CHCI’s work is deeply meaningful to her because she has seen the impact of their leadership programs firsthand in the lives of incredibly talented Latine professionals and the community.

She enjoys reading and is a big fan of the Realismo Mágico literary genre. She also loves spending time with her dog, Ruby and cat, Grayson. Who are best friends!
