Abel J. Ramos Taype was born and raised in Lima, Peru and calls Miami his new home. Abel worked for the Florida Democratic Party during several election cycles. Before becoming a community organizer, Abel worked at the Florida International University’s Extreme Events Institute as a Disaster Risk Analyst, assessing quantitative and qualitative data of public policies, governance, and economic performance levels of countries in the Americas and Asia. Abel graduated from Florida International University with an MBA and two Bachelor of Arts degrees in International Relations and Sociology/Anthropology. He is currently a consular officer with the UK’s Foreign Office coordinating 38 consulates across the Americas. As the chapter member, Abel plans to reconvene all Alumni in South Florida, engage the chapter with the local community and organize professional development events.
