Jennifer Garcia is from a small town located in Northeast Georgia. Her family has been there since they immigrated from Mexico two decades ago. She is a first-generation college student and is consistently inspired to pursue greater endeavors because of the sacrifices her family was willing to make.
Jennifer is currently a Cisneros Scholar at the George Washington University. She is a junior studying Political Science and English in hopes of going to law school in the future. She is the Director of Membership in the Organization of Latin American Students, previously served as the Director of Communications in the First-Generation to College Students organization as well as the Vice President of Membership Experience of the Alpha Pi chapter of Alpha Delta Pi. Her ultimate goal has always been to serve others, specifically within the Latinx community.
As a CHCI Intern, she hopes to gain more legislative knowledge and is eager to work within an office space filled with like-minded individuals striving for a better future–even virtually. She is incredibly grateful for the experience and is excited for the summer of inspiration she will take with her, even past her time with CHCI.
