Wandaly Capellan

Wandaly was born in the Dominican Republic and raised by a single mother in New York City alongside her younger sister. A cum laude Baruch graduate, Wandaly always wanted to make an impact in her career field. 

As a first-generation college graduate, she knows the challenges and struggles many of our program participants face. At CHCI, Wandaly is able to work alongside an incredible team to help foster emerging Latino leaders. As the Communication Coordinator, she is responsible for email marketing campaigns, assisting both the Social Media Manager and the Visual Designer to ensure that all deliverables are on time, and organizing and updating the CHCI Comms team’s shared drive.

Before CHCI, Wandaly worked on city council-level political campaigns in the field, managing volunteers, phone banking, and running door knocking events. She has also interned for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the U.S Census Bureau, and 9 Gems Hospitality. A fun fact about Wandaly is that she used to dance salsa on 2 professionally.
