As a first-generation college student, Izabella has always understood the importance of using her platform to amplify the voices of others in her community. Izabella has continued to develop a passion for immigrant rights by gaining experience working at different immigrant advocacy organizations. Most recently Izabella served as an Undergraduate Intern at the National Immigrant Women’s Advocacy Project, an organization that advocates for immigrant victims of violence and crime.
Izabella is currently a sophomore at The American University in Washington, D.C. where she is pursuing a degree in International Relations and a minor in Justice and Law. Upon completing her undergraduate studies, Izabella hopes to earn her J.D. degree. Her ultimate career goal would be to work for the United Nations.
As a CHCI participant, Izabella hopes to gain a stronger understanding of the legislative process. She also hopes to develop strong connections and use this experience to become a leader in her community.
