Brianna was born and raised in Princeton, NJ, by her hardworking single mom who immigrated to the United States over 20 years ago. Brianna is a first-generation college student at the University of Richmond with a double major in Political Science and Journalism with a minor in Education & Society. At the University of Richmond, Brianna serves as President of the Scholars Latino Initiative, a mentoring and college prep program for first-generation Latino students in the Richmond, VA area. As a Bonner Scholar, Brianna has committed 10 hours of weekly service throughout her college career, helping at non-profits from the International Rescue Committee to the Latin American Legal Defense and Education Fund.
Upon graduation, Brianna plans to pursue a master’s in Public Policy and obtain a Non-Profit graduate certificate in the hopes of directing a non-profit that serves undocumented communities in the future. Brianna is passionate about ensuring undocumented immigrants have a good quality of life and can be fully civically engaged in their communities.
As a CHCI Intern, Brianna hopes to gain a deeper understanding of the political process, how policy is implemented, and affects the lives of everyday people. Brianna is excited about the opportunity to work with professionals in her field of interest, and to get involved in DC, the cornerstone of politics and policy.
